Being born and raised in Hawaii, chef Rian has experience in various local-style foods and preparation.
Chef considers his cuisine modern Hawaiian with Asian influence from the unique melting pot of flavors only found here in paradise. He has worked as a chef for the last 18 years in fine dining restaurants on Oahu. He specializes in French, Italian, and Mediterranean cuisine. Rian has a wide variety of knowledge and experience to draw upon. Rian’s favorite foods tend to come from the old country (grandma’s recipes), he enjoys traditional ethnic foods, especially ones that have a story or a history included with them, he enjoys making slow-cooked items over an extended period of time and allowing the flavors to develop and marry such as stews, pot roast, chowders, chili, etc.
In his free time, he likes to do yoga, teach yoga, hike, and do beach activities.
